Hand crafted soaps and other bath and body products
It all started with backyard chickens, the gateway farm animals. The chickens took over our city backyard and led us down the path of buying a farm. On our farm we focus on raising animals on pasture for meat and currently raise heritage mixed breed pigs and Dexter cattle. We found that our happy, healthy animals had more fat (lard or tallow) than was used by our meat customers. Not wanting that fat to be wasted, farmer Sarah channeled her inner scientist and started mixing the fat, some additional oils and lye to make old fashioned soaps. After a few mishaps where the first batches of soap were mistaken for cheese, the slogan Soap Not Cheese was born. Additional products include beeswax based hand salves, bath bombs and shower fizzies.
