Commission Schedule
LMCA recognizes that some members may strike a balance organizational work with an acceptable commission rate. The spirit of commissions is that the more work a member contributes to the show - its planning, advertising and execution - then the lower their commission will be.
Each member starts out with a commission rate of 40% of their sales.
The commission rate will decrease in 5% increments for each completion of the sections below in their entirety. The board reserves the right to further reduce an artist’s rate for special work that contributes to the success and flow of the show.
Example: If all four of the available sections were completed then your commission would only be 20%.
Some helpful points:
Participate in a Committee. Track the tasks and time spent on them. Report their status to your chairperson.
Arrange for Help During the Show. Ask a friend or family member help you either with show tasks or staffing your booth.
Align your skills with the needs. Some tasks require standing, some prep work can benefit from social media savvy or time flexibility. Look into the roles and see what’s best for you.
